With patience and a bit 'of perseverance I was able to detect the proximity of these two caterpillars Machaon that bring out clearly their different stages of development. The caterpillars feed on the alternate moments of the host plant, moving continuously as they eat the various ramifications, long pauses of absolute stillness.

Taking advantage of one of these breaks has been possible exposure 4 / 2 needed to maintain the lowest possible sensitivity of the diaphragm with an opening that has made the environment without making it too noticeable, to my taste, and this too confusing. The host plant in this case is represented by sweet fennel (Foeniculum vulgare ) normally in vegetable cultivation.
